This site is a tribute to Carrie, who was born in Bath on August 07, 1958. She is much loved and will always be remembered.
A party animal at heart, she went through a long period of battling against cancer starting in 2010. Sadly it came back in 2016 and after many operations, intensive radiotherapy and chemotherapy through to the autumn of 2017, there was nothing more that the medics could do.
She was then under the watch of the District nursing team and the Ian Rennie nursing team with whom she developed great relationships.
On the 13th February Carrie went into the Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted where she passed away peacefully on the 8th March.
The team of people at the Hospice of St Francis are nothing less than amazing. Everyone, without exception, from the most senior doctors, to the nursing staff, the occupational therapists, the Chaplain, the cleaning staff and all of the volunteers did the most outstanding job of caring for Carrie and our family.
I cant thank them enough but the hospice runs as a charity that needs funds to support their services. Only 17% comes from the NHS and I would urge anyone that knew Carrie to give generously in her name rather than send flowers.
Just as importantly, raise a glass of rosé in memory to her!
Thank you. Paul
